History of October party

A member of the Bavarian National Guard suggested celebrating the wedding of Ludwig of Bavaria and Princess Therese von Hildburghausen with a big horse's running.
The banker and cavalry major Andreas von Dall'Armi transmitted the suggestion in King Max I. Joseph of Bavaria - this was immediately a fire and flame. On the 17th October, 1810 it was so far: the first horse's running and with it the precursor to the October party rose on the Theresienwiese, at that time still in the outskirts. The name for this "meadow" was taken over, by the way, at that time from the bride princess Therese. A year later all were united one the party should take place furthermore. Year after year thereupon the Wiesn took place as in private financed arrangements, until 1819. The town fathers of Munich took charge of the thing. Since then the October party every year and without exception was celebrated. In 1850 became the Oktoberfest a new symbol the Statue Bavaria and a part of the fame hall opens that year.
