The cuckoo clock counts generally as a "typical" Black Forest clock round which histories and legends curl. Already in 1740 the first "Guckgucksuhren" from Bohemia were sold in the Black Forest. There the first natural cuckoo's call was copied by means of two different sounding bellows in a clock. Then probably these were copied by bull's-eye forests clock farmers and then have been confessed as original bull's-eye forests cuckoo clocks (to read up in the German clock museum Furtwangen). Then clock was built the first bull's-eye forests in 1740 on the glass court with Waldau. In the 18th century the construction of these clocks so desired today concentrated upon the space mountain Tri in the Black Forest. At first the cuckoo clocks made in winter were sold during the summer months on long traveling in whole Europe; of it testify even today available Tragegestelle on which the clocks were fastened. Laboriously they were carried on the back. Today a blossoming industry has developed from the old craft. Remaining has remained of course still the traditional production way.
