Information for original Black Forest Cuckoo ClocksThe story of clock making in the Black Forest begins around 1630. People there had always crafted and carved using the local wood that was one of the few natural resources in the area, especially during the long winters when the land was covered with snow and they could hardly leave their houses. Clock making became more and more important for the rather poor Black Forest area. It is known for example that in 1808 in Triberg, and the surrounding villages, 790 of 9013 inhabitants were involved in the clock-making. In 1850 the Herzog (Duke) of Baden founded a School for clock-making in Furtwangen, where students learned math and drawing as well as making cases and movements for the clocks. Our offer of cuckoo clock combines the century-old craft of the Black Forest clock making with the quality made in Germany. Our extensive program is constantly enlarged by new models to maintain the tradition of the Black Forest clock. Our cuckoo clocks are manufactured not as mass-production, but as hand-assembled masterpieces. It is our company's philosophy to look for clocks only in high-quality movements, wood-carvings and only manufactured from traditional clock companies, which produced in Germany. The clocks are known around the world for Black Forest's high quality workmanship.
